More Amplifier Options From Rockford Fosgate

If you need more features, step up to the Power Series T400-4.

On a Tighter Budget? Rockford’s likewise got you covered. Consider the Prime Series R300-4.

Rockford Fosgate Punch Series Power Amplifiers

The P400-4 features an ultra-small little footprint, and a clean, simple design that looks outstanding no matter where it’s installed.

Dynamic Thermal Management ensures even heat dissipation throughout the entire heatsink for greatest or most complete or best possible efficacy and cooling.

Rockford Fosgate amplifiers combine raw, clean power, with sleek, smart designs that are easy to install and look great in any car. All Rockford amps are CES-2006 compliant, which means the power listed is the actual power delivered, and each amp includes a birth certificate to prove it. But don’t let the little size fool you; this petite powerhouse, which may without apparent effort fit beneath any seat, packs rather a punch! The P400-4 is the perfective associate for two pairs of coaxial or factor speakers, or a pair of speakers and a simple subwoofer system. The P400-4 delivers 50 watts of clean power to for channels in stereo mode, or 200 watts per channel when bridged down to a two channel amp. But what incisively sets a Rockford Fosgate amplifier detached from the competition? Plenty.

Keeping Things Clean and Cool
The amplifier’s occupation is to give rise to power, and a large total of it. But a side effect of creating power is heat, and that is an electronic component’s worst enemy. Rockford tackles this problem by incorporating a cast aluminum heat sink, Dynamic Thermal Management, and MEHSA³ engineering science to each amplifier, resulting in a significant reduction of the amplifier’s operating temperature. The cast aluminum heat sink surrounds three of the four sides of the amplifier’s circuit board, which maximizes the cooling surface area, and since the heat sink is cast it offers 30% better cooling capacity over extruded designs. When combined with Rockford’s patented Dynamic Thermal Management (DTM), cooling efficacy is taken one step further. DTM distributes heat evenly all over the heat sink where other heat sink designs may manufacture dangerous hot spots in the amplifier. Rockford likewise produced MEHSA³ engineering science for the MOSFET (
metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor) power transistors. MEHSA³ (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application- Third Generation) maximizes heat transfer from the MOSFETs to the heat sink for up to five times better heat transfer. By keeping the internal parts cool, the amplifier maximizes efficiency, formulates more power, and reduces distortion for increased sound quality.

Not only does the P400-4 construct a large total of clean power, it likewise delivers particular sound quality. Differential input circuitry measures the positive and negative input signal as it enters the amp and subtracts the voltage mutual to both conductors (noise), resulting in a crisp, clean signal for greatest or most complete or best possible sound quality. The use of TRANS-ana circuitry, borrowed from pro-audio company, Hafler, also adds to the sound quality recipe. The TRANS-ana circuit simplifies the audio signal and allows it to travel through the amplifier as a low voltage signal before it reaches the amplification stage. This improves the sound quality of the signal, delivers cleaner performance, and bettered reliability.

The P400-4′s TO-247 MOSFET power transistors offer 60% more metal tab area than the industry standard TO-220 MOSFETs, which means more power, better cooling, and bettered sound quality.

Once the signal reaches the amplification stage, it’s greeted by much beefier MOSFETs than what is traditionally employed in most amplifiers. Rockford uses TO-247 MOSFETs equated to the more or less standard and less effective TO-220 MOSFETs. TO-247s offer 60% more metal tab area, which means more power capacity, better heat dissipation, and lower impedance capability. In other words, these things manufacture a good deal of severe power with very little effort.

Sound Shaping and Equalization
Upgrading speakers and adding subwoofers will always improve your sound system, but in order to maximize how well the speaker performs requires a bit of equalization and sound shaping. Door and dash speakers may play a pretty wide range of frequencies, but realistically cannot fabricate the ultra-low frequencies that a subwoofer is designed to produce. Just the opposite is true for a subwoofer. It can not manufacture mid or high frequencies well; it is occupation is to pump out gut-punching bass. To make sure your speakers are working at their greatest or most complete or best possible efficiency, Rockford integrated a totally variable 12db high-pass and low-pass crossover into the 400-4. With a twist of the dial, the high-pass crossover may be adjusted to eliminate any frequencies underneath a sure point among 50Hz and 500Hz. If using the 400-4 for a subwoofer system, switch on the low-pass crossover and adjust the crossover to eliminate higher frequencies, adaptable amidst 50HZ and 500Hz.

The Punch EQ may be tweaked to deliver up to an 18dB increase at 45Hz for subwoofers, or up to a 12dB increase at 12kHz for speakers. This improves overall sound quality and overcomes audio response difficultnesses mutual to the automotive environment.

Rockford Fosgate built a reputation around the Punch EQ, which is integrated into their Punch amplifiers, and allows the amp to better shape the sound quality of your speaker or subwoofer system. When using the high-pass crossover, the Punch EQ may boost high frequencies above 12kHz anyplace from 0-12dB. This frequency range is often lost to road noise and other factors, and the Punch EQ allows you to dial up that range for perfective sound. If the low-pass filter is on, the Punch EQ may add a bit of boost (up to 18dB) to the 45Hz frequency range. This gives you the capacity to dial in a little extra rib-rattling bass to your music that may be lost due to the compact size of most car interiors.

Making the Connection
All controls and connections are located on one edge of the amplifier, making it easy to access all controls and guaranteeing an easy, clutter-free installation. The P400-4 will receive up to 4-gauge power and ground wire, and all connections are neatly housed in c-clamp type connectors that terminate inside the amp’s chassis. This adds a cleaner aspect to your install and ensures no “fly-away” wires may stray to other terminals causing possible shorts.

All connections are recessed into the amplifier’s chassis and located on the bottom edge of the P400-4, for a clean, uncluttered install that looks great in any car.

Speaker connections likewise use a similar clean audiophile design, and will receive up to 12-gauge wire for greatest or most complete or best possible signal transfer to your speakers or subs. The amp features a single RCA connection flush with the amp’s chassis, further heightening the overall clean appearance.

An RJ-45 jack is for connecting an optional remote-mounted Punch EQ control and is located next to the crossover and Punch EQ controls. The remote PEQ controller may be installed up front and within easy reach to give you on-the-fly control of your Punch EQ settings.

Pushing Power
The P400-4 is a flexible amplifier and is stable at two-ohms. This amp is perfective for powering front and rear speakers in four-channel mode, delivering 50 watts of clean power to each speaker. Or you may mix things up a bit and use the P400-4 to drive two front coaxial or element speakers at 50 watts RMS and bridge the rear channel to deliver 200 watts to a subwoofer.

5The usual magnificent Rockford Fosgate quality
By Scott Carpenter
Rockford systematically underrates their amplifiers. This was installed as percentage of a total scheme refresh. Along with this came the JVC KW-XR810 head unit and the Rockford Fosgate 12″ powered subwoofer. it went into a 2003 Toypta RAV4, in place of an old (2 years old) Pioneer head unit. I had substituted the stock speakers with Infinity Reference 6.5″ speakers in the front and rear. The sound was boomy and muddy, and I didn’t think it could get much better without doing numerous severe sound damping and tuning. I was very wrong.
This system has transformed my Toyota. The Infinity speakers have come alive. The highs are crisp and precise, the mids are nicely present but not overwhelming, and the lows (I turned on the high pass filter to let the subwoofer do the occupation a 6.5″ speaker just can’t) are solid. The subwoofer isn’t overwhelming, even though it could be. I adjusted the response to be flat, without the subwoofer drowning out everything else. I’ve played everything from Bach to Dirty Vegas to Nine Inch Nails. It sounds amazing. Even before I had the subwoofer hooked up, it sounded amazing, and that just made it better.
I likewise have it connected to an ancient Kenwood Sirius tuner that I got a lifetime subscription on in regards to 8 years ago, and that likewise sounds outstanding – just not as good as a new CD.
I made up errands to run today, just so I could spend more time in my car. It sounds that good. I knew my old head unit was underneath powered for the speakers, but I had no idea that putting an splendid amp in there could alter things this much.

5rockford fosgate P4004 4 channel amp.
By William Dyer
this is a magnificent amp. rockford test’s each amp they trade and record the numbers then put them in the box with the amp. The P4004 is rated at 50 watts x 4 at 4 ohms, the one i recieved was shown to put out 93 watts x 4 at 4 ohms. this amp is exceedingly quiet, you listen not one thing when in amidst songs. the P4004 is combined with an Alpine CDA 9885 reciever, a pretty combo. the rockford genuinely impressed me, I highly recomend it.

@psjk1979 Its a series of workouts that you do for 90 days. It comes with a schedule and diet plan. The diet starts off with lower carbs but it too changes every 3 weeks. By the end of the program you are eating very balanced meals. I personally like low – moderate carbs. If I am eating high carbs I eat low fat – If I am eating low carb I eat high fat. Now days I eat low carb the majority of the time except pre and post workout.
